from the mouths of babes
The 4 year old I babysit said to me today, "Kids don't die." He had been telling me about his stuffed animals, about how Mr.Monkey doesn't have a Mrs.Monkey because she lost her stuffing and died, but he has his kids because "kids don't die." He said it so matter-of-factly that I was momentarily shaken by his innocent statement. Oh, if only it were that simple. Wouldn't it be nice if it were true? But to him, it must seem true, because he's 4, and doesn't know any better, obviously. He is lucky enough to not have hardship or loss touch his life yet. It's moments like these that I love nannying. The simple reminders of humanity, of love.

Yep
The simple reminders of humanity are at least at times enough
Best wishes
