words matter.

I love music. I have memories of songs that have gotten me through every stage of my life -- my 8th grade trip to the Catskills, high school and the divorce of my parents, college, various life struggles, trips to Cape Cod and Ocean City, life in Manhattan, FL, and NC. Music calms me and speaks to me, and often, music expresses what I cannot. I love making mix cd's for people, and love introducing people to new music. I was listening to a mix I'd made for my pcp, and there's a song, "Lift Me Up", by Kate Voegle, on it that I love. Here are some of the lyrics.

.....Even so, I had to believe
Impossible means nothing to me

Can you lift me up?
Turn the ashes into flames
And I have overcome
More than words can ever say.......

But everything that's worth having
Comes with trials worth withstanding...

It's just a really beautiful song.

On a lighter note, I realized my old iPhone can be used as an iPod touch! I can get wifi on it, even though I don't have a phone plan on it! yay! I've been obsessed with the App Store, downloading all the free medical apps. I am such a geek.

"somewhere out there" from American Tail used to be the song I thought about with Uncle Stevie....now if I hear it, it reminds me that if you and I are apart, you and I are still looking at the same moon and wishing on that same star......Love, MM
